Tanzanie – About Tanzanite
PRÉSENTATION
I came to you, Tanzania, to wander, to look within, to clear the way, and to smile at the majesty of your trees, whilst caressing the eternal baobab.
To my surprise, I gradually fell into step with the rhythm of your waterfalls, the blue of your ocean, the safari of your craters and the humility of your beauty. Oh, Africa!
Settled beneath the rose petals and the summit of Kilimanjaro, I was reminded that even down here, there is a beyond.
There are some journeys which one wishes never to end. They teach us so much about ourselves and our capacity for resilience.
I asked myself the question: should I return to the old continent, or should I make these new surroundings my island of peace, my Robinson Crusoe? The haven of my true self, in perfect balance?
Somehow, on the final day, I decided to make the return voyage. Europe will always be deeply rooted within me, with its light, values and principles.
So, my choice was made.
We do not know all there is to know about nature and, just as we are unaware of so much that is present in our world, we can be equally as unaware of the invisible which surrounds us.
Having passed from life to death, and from death to life, I believe!
Having recaptured life, I exist!
It is a pleasure to share with you this brief introduction which summarises an episode of my life, and which gave birth to the second collection of Roualla’s creations.
Lake Manyara, the guiding theme of this second collection, is reflected by tanzanite, a fine stone of rare colour, born of a single mine and surrounded by an aura of pink flamingos, in the image of tanzanite itself.
I was not looking for technical sophistication or scientific exactitude, but the spontaneity of movement, unique pieces which carry souls within them; those of the cutter, the goldsmith, the polisher and the gem setter, as well as the light and dark of the painter’s soul.
Each piece carries within itself the soul of this journey, in which the bold, gleaming gold stands alongside the matte or brushed gold so as to render the invisible visible!
I chose rose gold for its deep warmth, that transforms each piece into a bridge between this journey and reality. The only constant is the desire for beauty!
Each piece of jewellery has a journey of its own, expressed in the act of creation.
The jewellery of artists!
I wanted to bring together and share with you the poems of my life, which I have turned into dreams, love!
The photos which were taken during my wanderings, and authored my sensitivity.
Every item bears the ladybird signature, “Our Lady’s bird”, to bring luck to us all!
Joy is omnipresent in all who know how to look for it!
For me, luck is something we create, and continuity my common thread!
I am grateful for every breath of wind and every twig that accompanied me on this journey, for transforming my wanderings into my talismanic source of inspiration!
Thank you Tanzania!
